How SafeCheck works

A pre-start safety check
in two minutes or less.

SafeCheck is designed for people who are about to start work, not people sitting at a desk. Here's exactly what happens from the moment you open the app.

Add SafeCheck to your home screen
Open app.safecheck.co.nz in Safari (iPhone) or Chrome (Android). Enter your access key and tick the Terms of Use. Then: Share → Add to Home Screen (iPhone) or Menu → Install App (Android).
Done once per device. After that it opens like a real app — full screen, no browser bar, instant.

Enter site details and pick your trade
Fill in the site address, your name, company, date, and optional job/reference number. Your name and company pre-fill automatically. The trade dropdown only shows what your key is licensed for.

Select the tasks for this job
Pick from the task list for your trade — each task has a code (e.g. P-05 for roof plumbing). Add as many tasks as needed. For plumbers, overhead powerline hazards are added automatically when roofwork tasks are selected.
Tasks are specific and real: "Torsion spring installation or repair", "Mixing admixtures", "Aerial tree work" — not generic categories.

Review hazards and tick the controls
For each task, SafeCheck shows every relevant hazard, its harm outcomes, and each control you need to have in place. Tap ✓ Done, ✗ Not Done, or N/A.
Critical risks and Schedule 1A hazards are flagged clearly. Mandatory controls are highlighted. The hierarchy — Elimination → PPE — is shown for every control.

Save the assessment
Tap Save Assessment. The record is stored on your device with a timestamp. The form resets ready for your next job.

Access and share your records
The History tab shows every saved assessment and incident. Tap Email to send a full written record to yourself, a client, or a health and safety file. Tap Copy to paste into any app. Select multiple records to send them together in one message.
Records include every task, hazard, and the exact status of every control — a complete audit trail for the job.
